Fraser's Hill Half Day trip

It was a cloudy sunday... My dad had plan to go to one of the hot spring located at Sungkai, Perak. However, due to some ffk issue, we had changed our plan and heading up to Fraser's Hill.. It was a spontaneous decision and me, my parent and my gf were heading up to there.. This is my 1st time to Fraser's Hill, haha.. never been there before but plan to go there once upon a time..

So, in the half way, we dropped by the Kuala Kubu Bharu water dam.. the dam is big but yet not so big compare to the Ulu Yam dam. So here comes the pic.. We forgot to bring the digital cam and hence took all pic using my hp, N79, luckily the picture quallity is decent.

We drove to the gate checkpoint further and the journey took around 45 mins. So, we dropped by here for 20 mins because we have to wait for the time to go up the hill. For those who never been to Fraser's Hill, you gotta know that the Odd hour is for going up to hill and Even hour is for going down the hill. Manage to take some pictures here.

All cars queue up before the gate open

A peace before go up.. haha

Nice view at one of the hotel, forgot the name..

This is the hotel..

After went up to the hill, we managed to take some photos at the hotel and drink a warm milo at one of the food stall... Fraser's Hill is a perfect place for you to rest your mind.. If you wanted to relax and run away from the busy city lifestyle, why not come to here and enjoy the fresh air?
This is my picture of the day.. Like it very much

Sweety, oh my sweety ^^

The symbolic clock..

Finally, the picture of us..
Standing up proudly cause I've finally been to the Fraser's Hill

At about 2.20pm, we headed back to KL.. This end our half day trip.. Although there was a tree fallen in the middle of the road in the half way but we were very fortunate to pass through it. Else, we gonna use another alternative way to go home.. thx god..

Stay tuned for more update ya.. until then,
wish u guys all the best and I'm going to sign out

Working vs Studying

It's Monday again, the seventh week of my Industrial Training with another one and half month to go.

Sometimes, I do feel that working is better than studying. You may not need to study your course syllabus after your schooling time. You enjoy most of the time after your whole day work. You may do whatever you which after working hour. You get salary every month. You get money to spend with and able to purchase the thing you wanted long time ago. You have the social responsibilities which cannot be avoided after all.

However, study has its own advantages too. You may not need to think you lack of money at the end of every month. You may not need to face your boss who always give you endless work and extreme pressure. You can always have fun in your college and hang out with all your friends. You can sing K, watch movies, and travel with your friends whenever you have free time.

Everything comes with pros and cons. For me, it's the way how you judge a thing. Someone might claim that study is much better than working or vice versa. Hence, appreciate whatever you have right now. Be it you are still studying or working, enjoy your current situation to the max.

*****Some extra thing here*****

Bought a new pc for my brother on Sunday.

Nice spec though.. Good graphic card and powerful processor. All of the components cost me around 1.67k. No choice but to change the old pc due to the hardware problem. Anyway, the pc has been used for 5 years and it's time to get a new 1. When will I get my Satio then??

I am always kind enough to spend money for my family and my gf. Whatever they needed and if I am affordable, then I will try to fulfill their wish. Guess this is my own nature, seeing the one who you love the most feel happy, then the satisfaction comes to my heart. However, I'm kind of stingy when I wanted to buy something for myself. Getting a new pair of shoes running in my mind since last year but I haven't got any shoes in this year. =.=

Anyway, try to save more money for my upcoming Sarawak trip as well as the Taiwan or Aussie trip which has been planned earlier. Many gadgets running in my mind and I will try to grab one of these before my yr 4 sem 1.

Guess there are too many extra things here. I'm going to end it here. Stay tuned to check for more updates.

Until then, all the best to all of you.

Signed Out.

Some Random Post

Oh yeah, sitting in the office with all the ISO documents completed makes me feel so boring..

Have been browsing all the webpage since 8.30am.. No new task given to me.. I am going to get the salary blindly. Wondering why I always get the job where the job scope is nothing related to my own field. Hmmm, it doesn't matter actually. What does matter is the salary. I'm going to sit like this and yet get my salary. That's nice especially I need some money for my next year Sarawak trip as well as my long dreaming SE Xperia10 or Satio.

I'm going to grab one of these phone some time in 2010 and I wish I can be the owner of it.. ^^

This flagship phone is definitely a green light for me.. It's time to experience the new Touch UI and enjoy the bigger screen. XD

By the way, I'm still counting down the remaining days for my internship as well as my birthday. 2 months from today onward will be my 22nd birthday. Getting older day by day. Just wish that I can earn enough money to fulfill all my dreams and requirements.

Looking forward to get in touch with my fellow friends. I felt quite miserable with my current life. Not to say the robotic life that I need to iterate everyday, but I am also losing the time to spend with my sweet gf. Poor little gf need to bear with my busy life and I wish this can end ASAP.

A picture taken by me at WATERFRONT, Sitiawan

Well, this is a messy and unorganized post.. hope u guys bear with what running in my mind now.

Until then, Coldfission signed out

All the best to all my fellow friends who doing their internship..

My second Internship

It's been week three since I started my industrial training in one of the electronic factory located in Kota Damansara. Well, what can I say after being at this factory for 3 weeks? Only 1 word comes into my mind, yeah… it's boring. My daily routine begins with setting up my laptop on my desk. Previously, the boss promised me there will be a computer for me to use. However, all computers are slow and used for payroll and attendance system. Hence, I have decided to use my own laptop. Bring it everyday..

After setting up my laptop I begin to surf net and look for things to download. Fully utilize the 2 MB line for my own purpose since they didn't use it regularly. Last year I did the same thing too ^^ but that was the 4Mb least line which is much faster compare to now.

Next, before my boss come to office, I will slip out to the production line to "observe" the workers doing their job. My boss has assigned me to understand the process flow of the entire manufacturing process.. So, what I waiting for?? Just slip to there and start observing. Of course I do my job as well.. I need to record every single step the worker did and compile it as a report and submit to my boss.

The most anticipating time will be my lunch time. Usually I had my lunch at the store near by the factory. Sometimes, when my girl comes to find me for lunch, then that will be my happiest moment. ^^ After lunch, I repeat the early session process again until the end of the day. Sounds so boring right? That's my life here. Dozen of paper work which not related to my field at all. However, I learn something in this factory. At least I am familiar with the manufacturing process and this could help me in my future career.

Since this is just the third week, I do not want to comment so much about my internship. I still hope that there is a lot more interesting work for me to do. Of course I hope to get my salary asap because I wanted to buy a NDSL for my gf. Until then, stay tuned for more info next time.

Long update + RC car project

It's been quite a long time that i didnt update my blog.. have been busy doing my assignments and handling my studies over this 14 weeks. Finally, now comes to the end of the semester and it's the time for me to prepare the final exam. I still would like to share what have i done for this pass few months.

I have bought a new laptop and a new motorcycle in July. Feel happy because i have became the new owner of this 2 new "toy".
My new bike..

Engine capacity: 150cc
Fuel injection engine
Top speed: around 130km/h++
This is my secondary transport to school. Like it very much because i can cruise at higher speed on the highway and it response pretty well when u take a sharp corner. For the economical sake, this bike deserve a 5 stars due to its fuel injection engine. Full tank of petrol allow you to cruise more than 350km. Nice huh??

My new laptop:

The MSI-VR220x is my new gadget. Featuring Intel Dual Core T4200, 2GB of DDR2 RAM, integrated graphic i4500, 250GB SATA HDD, WIFI & Bluetooth, Super DVD combo drive.
This laptop is small in size where it has a 12inch screen and weights 1.9kg with 4 cells battery. I like this laptop very much because of its portability. I was planned to buy a netbook initially. But after judging the pros and cons as well as the price, i hv decided to buy this particular model. This laptop cost around RM1740 which pretty near to the netbook price tag. By adding in extra RM100, i can get a better spec so i decide to buy it. I hv bought another wireless mouse to pair with my new rig.. haha.. so my new rig is perfect for me to travel around.. yeah

Next, our lecturer had assigned us to build a remote control car from scratch in the beginning of the semester. Since we are totally new in RC circuit design, we gotta go to pasar road to buy some ready made electronic circuit. Then we solder the circuit based on the schematic diagram from the circuit that we bought. To build the car, we went to times square and grabbed a RM90 RC car such that we can disintegrate it and extract parts of the useful component. The RM90 was simply paid for the DC motors, battery, 4 wheels, suspension and also the circuit.

After getting those necessary components, we began to build our circuit and car body. However, we faced a lot of problem such as short circuit, malfunction of certain button, circuit acting weird and so on. After judging the pro and cons, we had decided to use the original circuit from the RC car that we bought earlier. The result is awesome where the car can move amazingly fast!! The car building process is time consuming as we have to shape the base and other fine parts. We did the drilling, tapping, cutting and other processes to get the "skeleton" of the car. The base is a metal alloy which is extremely durable and hard.
Here i will post the pic of the car that we made:
This is the final product of our hard work. Cool ya??

The back of the car. This is the initial prototype. We replaced the plastic holder with steel holder for extra durability

The tranmitter and receiver circuit that bought from pasar road. We solder it ourselves.

The base and the motor is clearly shown here. Look nice isn't it?

Once we had build our car, we gotta enter a competition organized by our lecturer. The fatest car will get extra marks. On the competition day, we were so confident with our product because our car has the strongest motor compare to other group. Unfortunately, our car spoiled during the competition. This is because one of the spectators step on our car when the car crashed towards him. His foolish act has destroyed our hard work for 10 weeks. At the end, we were so pissed off with his stupid act and we gave up the competition. Although we knew we will beat all the car up but we still for go all competition due to the damage in the front wheel of the car. Even though we didnt get any prize in this competition, we had gained a lot during the RnD and making process. It's fun to work with my fellow classmate.

It's a long post. Thanks for reading it. More photo can refer to my facebook account. I will go to internship in next month. Thus, stay tuned for more update ya.. Until then, we shall meet again.

Energy Conservation

In 21st century, people need tremendous of energy to perform daily activities. People consumed large amount of energy in various way. However, the energy consumed does not fully utilize and most of the energy is wasted. Therefore, we need to conserve energy in a more efficient way. Energy conservation has been practiced in most of the country because it can decrease the quantity of energy consumed in a building while achieving similar outcome. The target we need to perform energy conservation in UATR is the SA building.

SA block consists of faculty general office, meeting rooms, tutorial rooms and computer laboratory. The energy consumed in this building is very high because most of the staffs are work inside this building. Therefore, we can see that energy conservation able to bring major benefits to UTAR as well as the occupants inside SA block building. One of the immediate outcomes after performing energy conservation in SA block is the reduction in electricity bills for this building. Some of the equipments installed in SA block require huge amount of electricity and through some practice we can actually reduce the amount of energy being used.

Reduction of electricity usage also means reduce the usage of fossil energy which used to generate electrical energy. In this way, our environment will become cleaner and greener because less fossil fuel is burnt. Fossil fuel available on our Earth is decreasing day by day and we need to conserve it before we consume all of them. Therefore, we need to manage energy usage effectively such that no energy will be wasted. By doing so, we are reducing the greenhouse effect as well as air pollution in atmosphere.

Furthermore, if we manage the energy consumption systematically the maintenance cost of this building will be reduced. Electrical appliances such as light and air conditioner usually have very long lifetime and need not to be replaced in short period. These appliances usually play very important role in a building. Therefore, maintenance of the equipment must not be ignored. If we reduced the usage of light in 25%, the lifetime of the light can be extended as good as 25%. UTAR can save a lot of money by extending the equipment lifetime. In addition, energy consumption for equipments which maintained well is always better than those which are not well maintained.

Next, conservation of energy also enhances UTAR’s reputation in public. Our government is putting a lot of effort to promote energy conservation in corporate and industrial sector. By performing energy conservation in UTAR compound, we are setting good example to the public. People will gain awareness of the importance of energy conservation because UTAR is conveying this message by actions.

In a nutshell, energy conservation not only brings major benefits to UTAR but also to the environment. Hence, it is a must to practice energy conservation in UTAR compound. Further discussion on the procedures and statistics regarding energy conservation will be carry on in the next session.
